Keepin' It Real was a thriving Seaside Bar & Grill in the quiet village of Toucari, Dominica created with love by our friend, Derrick Augustine. He started small with a tiny roadside grill but his dreams were BIG! He worked tirelessly to expand as business grew. His passion & dedication made Keepin' It Real an island favorite for visitors from all over the world & well loved by the people of Dominica as THE place to be for great food, good people & beautiful views.
September 2017 the devastation of Hurricane Maria leveled Dominica and Derrick picked up the pieces & started over.
Less than a year later Keepin' It Real was back, bigger and better! Each visit showed unbelieveable progress & new details. Derrick's passion for his work was limitless. He made Toucari proud, he made Dominica proud.
Sadly, in March 2019 a blazing fire tore through Keepin' It Real leaving nothing but smoldering ashes.
And now Derrick is starting over. AGAIN.
Keepin' It Real was never just a restaurant & a great spot to chill. It was a shining example of perseverance, dedication, passion & hard work. Dominica Strong!
Keepin' It Real was place to relax, share with your family, to celebrate life's achievements and showcased the beauty, uniqueness and island hospitality of Dominica, bringing people together from all over the world!
We all know that Derrick is strong & he will overcome this obstacle but...
