Dawn Smith's Medical Benefit

Hello Everyone, I am sorry I haven't had time to update this story that many of us that know my wife Dawn call, "Dawn's Journey". We didn't get much notice when Dawn's diagnosis came in at Stage IV Head, Neck, and Throat Cancer. With my own disabilities I knew I wasn't able to contribute much other than my love and driving Dawn for the multiple appointments we have faced since November. Most were an hour and a half drive each way. The most comfortable car for her was our reliable 1996 Ford Crown Victoria. She was able to rest there and on the way home!

Our bills have grown rapidly but we still have heat, food, electric, and are surrounded by a lot of love from so many that truly care about us. It has been a blessing and carried us through with God's grace. Our future is unknown. But Dawn's past is very well known as she has served our community through Private Health Care, 17 Years at our local Hospital, with a love for people that isn't often seen and known by so many. I would say I am biased, she's my wife! BUT, I have heard so many new stories from people I never heard of or known about how Dawn reached out to them in their time of need caring for their loved ones within their final moments here on earth. I was blessed to learn that these patients were well cared for, right to their final moment here on earth by my wife Dawn. That IS Dawn, that is what Dawn does. The patients that can't remember her name ask for, "The red headed one!"

It won't be until late June when Dawn has her "PETT Scan" which will show us if her treatment was successful. We hope and pray for the best! We also know there is a lesion on her right Kidney that has raised some concern. The PETT Scan will also determine if that has spread and what our options are. Dawn is very determined to be at our oldest Granddaughters wedding. That will be July 9th! Maybe it will be better if we don't know any results until after so everyone can enjoy this VERY SPECIAL wedding! It's mostly what Dawn talked about before the cancer tore our lives apart. It is what she still talks about and that is part of the reason our MANY grandchildren call her, "Super Nana"!!!

So I humbly ask you to consider helping us with the many expenses we still face on top of the Bills we currently have.  It is true that there are fees associated with your donation. But they are much less than 10% and the money is usually ready for immediate use. Some fundraisers receive in excess of 25% so we feel blessed to be able to use this service. The balance doesn't reflect what we have, but what we have received since January 6th when our daughter started this page. I would also say that Dawn enjoys receiving Cards, with just a word of encourgement to help her keep moving forward. It's only a stamp and that is worth her smile! Dawn can receive cards at,
Dawn Smith
1812 Baker Road
Penn Yan, NY 14527
I will get them in her hands right away. Today she is very weak and fatigued due to the radiation. We both truly appreciate your help. This is a way to reach people with a need that you won't have to wonder if your gift is being responsibly used, it will be!
Sincerely, Tim & Dawn
