Let me introduce you to my amazing stepson Keith Terry. He is 37 years old, lives in Oceanside, Ca. Unfortunately he has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He came into my life at 12. I was marrying his father, who is now a retired Master Sgt., with the United States Marine Corps. He has 3 siblings 2 from his mom Paul and Amber and my daughter Nicole. I immediately and happily stepped in as step mom to these amazing kids. We became very close and I have maintained a fantastic relationship with them and their mother, Diane, who is sadly battling cancer, to this day.
At 24, he met Vanessa and became a father to Colin. The relationship between Keith and Vanessa didn’t work out and Colin moved out of state, sadly losing contact with his son and frankly, he had some rough years finding himself and his way.
Now at 37, he has been diagnosed with this inoperable brain tumor. He kept this sad news private for quite awhile, not wanting to upset anyone, but just recently, he had the courage to tell all of his family about his difficult diagnosis and journey ahead.
He was given two years left to live and wants to spend some of that time reuniting with his loved ones and especially, getting reacquainted with his son, Colin again. It would be a gift for them both, to be able to forge a new relationship with the precious time he has left.
We are a family of modest means and Keith has big dreams! I was once a Flight Attendant and he loved the stories of my first class services I provided . Therefore, he has always wanted to fly “first class” on an airplane.
Keith still hopes to check off that bucket list, flying “first class” to see his family in Michigan. Not only are we saving for a airline ticket, but also when he can becomes too ill to work.
We want to reunite the entire family, including his estranged girlfriend and mother of his son, father, mother, siblings and step mother along with other loved ones who want to make his dream of flying first class come true. Even if only for a short time, it would be wonderful to allow him to realize that dream, while still physically able to do so.
It would mean so much to me, and his family, if you could make his dreams a reality. Keith hasn’t been a perfect person or had the perfect life, but he is a good man who wants to make amends and introduce his son to his family while he is still able and connect with those who really are most important to him.
We thank you, so much, for even the smallest contribution. Anything helps get us closer to our goals to help Keith come spend the holidays with those he loves most.
If you are unable to contribute financially could you please forward this story to others in hopes of accomplishing Keith’s bucket list.
Sincerely,
Stephanie
