Support Benjamin's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am the single parent of two amazing young boys, Joseph and Benjamin. On June 5th, we were taking our evening walk like usual. My boys went up ahead on their scooters. They were trying to swing an old abandoned gate when Benjamin's hand was crushed. We rushed to the emergency room, and they had a trauma team look at it. They couldn't see any fractures at the time, but his hand was massively swollen. They had us wait for 6 hours until they transferred us to UC Davis. Apparently, that wait did more damage. They did emergency surgery and found fractures; the arteries were severed, and tendons torn. He has had 5 surgeries, a skin graft, blood transfusions, and they are currently doing a skin flap to grow new skin on the hand. We are still in the hospital almost a month later and still have a ways to go. I haven't been able to work, and I am asking for donations for gas for the 50-mile drive to the hospital, food, and to be able to survive until my PFL goes through.
