Honduras - Hurricane Relief Fund (NY Crew)

Dear Donors,

So much has happened since Hurricanes Eta&Iota and COVID-19, including the death of over 7,040,264 people worldwide, including relatives, close friends and people very dear to our hearts. We are all truly very sorry for your losses.

We hope this message finds you well. Our team faced challenges in compiling and disseminating the promised information in a timely and effective manner. However, we hope this serves as a way to rectify and provide you with the update you deserve.

With your financial donations and the generous contribution of time from numerous individuals who voluntarily helped us help others rebuild their lives, by properly disposing of ruined property, washing and safely disinfecting homes and providing them with basic needs such as water, food, personal hygiene products, medications and silicone boots which allowed them to move safely within the thick and sometimes knee-high mud that contained dangerous sharp metal objects, contaminated water and much more putrid and dangerous finds, we were able to help those in need.

We are also pleased to inform you that this initiative also motivated a partnership with Fundación Amigos de Guarderia Infantiles (established in 1972), in which we provided them with funds to restore the damages caused by the hurricanes to the roof and ridges of approximately 170.00 meters of an education center in San Carlos, Choloma, which feeds over 300 children daily, representing over 210 families.

Due to multiple unforeseen circumstances pertaining to category 4 hurricanes (such as structural damages to stores, collapsed power lines, weeks-long power outages, among many other challenges) optimal transaction conditions couldn’t always be possible, but you can rest assured that every dollar was utilized to support those affected by the disaster. Please feel free to contact us for a PPT report and pictures.

We are truly grateful for your understanding and for your compassion and commitment to helping those in need.

Warmest regards,
Eillim & Honduras - Hurricane Relief Fund (NY Crew)

------

Up until recently people in Honduras were afraid of covid's effects, but everything changed overnight. Now thousands of Honduran families are on survival mode due to a catastrophic Hurricane that has left many without a home, without food, without water, without dry clothes or a warm place to sleep because they are surviving in the roof of a house if they were lucky enough to find one on time. Our brothers and sisters of Honduras need all the help they can get.

According to the World Bank Data, "Approximately 1 out of 5 Hondurans live in extreme poverty, or on less than US$1.90 per day, in rural areas." Many have lost absolutely all of their belongings but remain grateful for being alive, after experiencing the devastating effects of Hurricane Eta.

All the money collected will be used to buy basic needs, such as food, water, clothing, personal hygiene products, toilet paper, diapers, medications, and mattresses. We will be posting copies of receipts for transparency reasons.

Thank you for being a part of this.
