Hi, my name is Simon and I'm fundraising for an upcoming surgery and other related living costs.

I used to work in DEI, tech, and tech-adjacent spaces. Last year, my brain and body broke, and I left that world to recover and heal. Since then, I lived off my savings for months to prepare myself for my next career... becoming a mailman

 

I became a mailman in the March 2022, but in May, I got a call from my doctor saying that I was due for surgery in June!

 

I've quit working since then, and I'll go back to my job of carrying mail on July 25th. However, the reality is... taking time off work for this surgery and a 6 week recovery period is not something I budgeted for, even if I've been living off savings for the past few months. My savings have been going down, and now with this unexpected two months off of work, I'm getting to a low and tough area that's encouraging me to ask for help and to lean on others.

 

If you've been touched by my story, I would really appreciate the help of money during this tough time of mine. The biggest aches I am dealing with right how are my rent and bills. The total of this fundraising amount is roughly the cost of two months of rent, insurance, and utilities.

 

The success of this fundraiser will help me recover with more ease and care... If I fully recover, it's less likely I will get injured when I go back to work carrying mail! Any excess in this fund will go directly to groceries and comforts to keep me company during my recovery period.
