In today's world, cancer is one of the scariest words to hear. Many fears come to mind, and a new journey of hope and fighting begins.  As a community who knew Sherri Rogers, she was a strong person and a fighter. Peyton Rogers is no different. She is just like her momma. In lieu of Peyton's recent diagnosis, many have asked how they can help. We are reaching out to you, the Pure Gold community, her friends, and all our friends and families to donate. Let's lessen the burden by supporting her financially. Peyton was the first Pure Gold Princess, and we want to let her and Mrs. Rogers know how much we care.

Over this past week Peyton was hospitalized with a collapsed lung and a grapefruit sized mass in her chest. After multiple procedures and testing, Peyton was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. The oncologist did communicate that this has a 100% remission rate. The current treatment plan is that Peyton will begin chemo every two weeks for six months, with the hope that Peyton is cured by the end of treatments.

Peyton is currently a junior at the University of North Texas majoring in Theater Education to become a teacher. She recently moved into a home closer to campus. Prior to being diagnosed, Peyton worked as a Party Princess (yes! A real life Belle, Elsa, Ariel or any other Disney Princess you can think of) and created/designed many of the costumes.

While Peyton is going to continue her college courses with her physician’s clearance, it will be too demanding on her body to continue work as well.  My goal is to raise $12,000 to give Peyton at least $2000 per month to cover her rent and household expenses. By providing her with this financial relief, I’m hoping Peyton will be able to focus on the tough fight she has over the next 6 months.
