Help David buy a new oboe!

Donation protected
Hello everyone!! My name is David Hedley and I'm currently trying to raise enough money to buy the oboe of my dreams. I'm a student at the Royal College of Music where I've recently begun a master's programme in performance. Why am I trying to raise money? I'm trying to raise money to help me with the purchase of a new Marigaux M2 oboe. It was first brought to my attention in 2018 by one of my teachers that a Marigaux M2 would have a huge impact on reaching my full potential as an oboist. However with a price tag of £9,925 I'm sure you can understand they are not the easiest of instruments to acquire! The M2 oboe is a very special instrument that was only developed in recent years. It has a revolutionary design which has refined the tuning system of the oboe and is quickly becoming one of the most sought after instruments for professional oboist throughout the world. What am I doing to raise money? I am hoping to raise between £3-4,000 by selling my current instrument, on top of this I have been working as a waiter alongside my studies which I have been doing to assist my living costs and also save money towards the cost of the M2! I will also be giving a fundraising concert in Morpeth, Northumberland which I have been very kindly helped in arranging by Gillian and Ken Irvine and supported by some amazing local artists who will be performing alongside me! Thank you for taking the time to read, I would be so unbelievably grateful for any contribution large or small towards my goal! And if you feel you can't donate please do share this page anyway!! David  A bit more about me... (If you're interested ) I grew up in the Northumberland mining town Ashington and alongside drums and guitar I began learning the oboe aged 12. Four years later at the tender age of 16 I embarked on a career in the Royal Marines band Service where I served for 6 years. Since leaving the Royal Marines,  I have been studying music during which time I've also taught and worked as a freelance musician with orchestras including Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Alongside my musical studies I have also spent a great deal of time fundraising for various Charities across the UK namely NSPCC and Cancer Research. Having completed my undergraduate degree in music at Durham University last July I have now began studying my masters degree in performance at the Royal College where I was awarded the Ian Lombes Scholarship towards my fees for my auditions well as winning the place as resident music scholar for the Robert Anderson trust 2019-2021. Some highlights of my first term at the RCM include having been one of 5 finalists in their Concerto Competition, taking part in projects performing Richard Strauss's Wind Serenade with RCM wind ensemble and Highlights from Tchaikovsky's Ballet Swan Lake with RCM Philharmonic.
