Dear Friends and Family,
My name is Davi Pettinato and I am a sophomore Biology student at Franciscan University of Steubenville. This past summer, I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Quito, Ecuador for a two month mission trip where I served the people in the local hospital and community. This was an incredible experience for me as a young adult learning about the world around me. Upon returning from this trip, I spent weeks reminiscing on the experiences I had with the people of South America and decided I needed to continue my work as a Catholic missionary.
This spring break, I will take the next step by traveling to the island of Haiti. This country has been dubbed the poorest country in the western hemisphere, while being the second most densely populated. Haitian men, women, and children are continuously suffering from hunger and poverty, and they need the help and support of young missionaries.
While in Haiti, I plan to stay in an orphanage in a small community outside of Port-au-Prince called Durverger. I will be there for around 7 days and will be performing different works such as building houses, getting to know the community, and potentially assisting with a medical program. From the money raised, my fellow teamates and I will be able to cover our travel expenses, as well as purchase building materials and supplies for the community.
As a past missionary, I know a huge part of mission is fundraising. With that, I humbly ask you to support me on this mission to serve the people of Haiti. This mission trip requires me to fundraise $1382, and I can't do it without your help! No donation is too small because anything helps when it all adds up! By donating to this mission fund, you will be directly supporting the Haitian people. I am very thankful for all the opportunities given to me through this mission and your donation will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
