Hi, my name is Lynne. I'm now 85 and have my beloved pet, Xander, with me. He's 15.
Our apt. building was surprisingly condemned last week for no heat. There are 22 units here, 16 of which have been rented with our beloved pets and we, as their persons. The lessor has verbage, yet no actual directions or assistance unless we move out as a process. The City has the power card of booting us out by boarding the building. There might be as many as 50 of us here total.
Imagine this though: they (lessor and City) are all willing to let us experience these conditions. They are not offering us alternative living accommodations during this sub-artic air temps period. This isn't a good look for supporting elders and others for the City.
So I'm asking all of you, for all of us, for help.
The monies and gifts asked for cover:
Security and 1st month expense of $1800/unit x 16 units = $28,800
Moving expenses for this unexpected condition = $2000 x 16 units = $32,000
Pain and suffering and angst and distress for all these others: off the charts!!!
