The Gillette's wish for a mini me!

Hey y'all! Help make and name a baby!! We have been trying to start a family for over 3 years. We were married in the year 2009 and were in no immediate rush to begin a family. We had envisioned that it would have been easy to begin a family. So, why not wait?

After using an ovulation calendar, ovulation test kits, standing on my head, elevating my feet, doing cartwheels, or simply trying for over a year without a pregnancy; Greg and I decided to meet with my ObGYN.
After meeting with him he stated that all seemed fine and that we should try Clomid, otherwise known as the "Magic Pill." After 3 months it was very apparent that we were going to need more than just a "Magic Pill;" we needed to bring out the big cohones! It was time to meet with an Endocrinology Specialist...dun, dun, dun!

After the first appointment several tests were done on Greg and I. I feel that the only thing that was missed was asking me to donate my lung! Unfortunately, I found out that my Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and my Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) were indicative that I would have a very difficult time producing follicles in my ovaries; which produce a baby. I know, I know, health class 101! Ish! The only option for Greg and I was to try IVF. After all the blood, sweat, and tears...literally; IVF was unsuccessful. 

We met with several doctors after receiving this news and were informed by all that our options are to adopt or donor eggs. This is why we are here! Unfortunately, my insurance nor Greg's covers  the cost of donor egg, (we shopped around for months) and as one can see it is very expensive, and this is why we are asking for help!

As most know I did buy a very nice car but please understand that it is used and Mercedes do depreciate. My car prior was a small 2 door 6 year old Honda that was not suitable for a baby, nor was it safe to drive in the winter months ( I referred to it as my Matchbox Car). At that time we were unsure of what our next steps were going to be as far as a future was concerned with continuing to pursue a family, and I made this purchase based on the unknown. We are not rich, or even well-to-do, not that this matters, however, I feel that I need to include this in our story.  

We are not giving up on trying to have a baby; which brings us to the decision being made doing this via donor eggs. I promise, we will be amazing parents! It just means that it will be a bit more difficult for us financially! Anything will help! This journey has taught Greg and I so much! We continue to remain hopeful that our baby journey is not over and that it has only begun. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!!
