Petrichor has a tumor

[2nd edit- I'm changing this to be a fund for his palliative care. Currently, he takes Yunnan baiyao, graviola, turkey tail, slippery elm, milk thistle, tramadol, and gabapentin. He also doesn't want to eat anything but cooked meat  now, and he's huge, so he can easily clear a chicken in a day. So it's a lot of cost to upkeep him. Any help you wanna give is going directly to treats and meds and maybe a new blanket for him. Thank you all for all your help ❤ ]

[Edit- this was written two weeks ago. Since then he has had radiology that shows that he had internal bleeding and needs the tumor removed by Wednesday, October 20th, or he will die. The price for that is $6633. But, I have $1000 of that I can spend from our rent savings, and ive been given $1000 on cash app and PayPal. So I'm lowering the price $2000 to $4633]

Hi, I'm Raine Fiona, Petrichors human. I rescued Petrichor from his abusive ex owner on a farm in California 9 years ago. I wasn't initially trying to get a dog, I was going to find him a new human to take care of him. But there was something magical about him, and I quickly realized that he was meant to stay with me. His life before we met was brutal, and I really felt for him, having had a rough go of it myself. So I promised him I'd do everything in my power to get him to old age happy and healthy and strong.

 

But he's not quite there yet. He's not old enough yet, but he started getting sick. After like 5 different vet visits that just diagnosed him as old and arthritic, we finally got a real diagnosis: cancer. I was devastated. I cant describe how much my life changed for the better since meeting him. I'm a physically disabled autistic trans person with ptsd, and being able to work or maintain relationships has always been hard for me. Until I got him. It was like a starting point for care and love for me, that gave me a basis of how I could be. My symptoms were out of control before, very chaotic, but he just stabilized me, like the moons gravitational pull. Even after all the stress of post-transition, the pandemic, and everything else, we've always had each other, and things were never that bad for either of us.

 

We don't know what kind of cancer it is yet, or the real prognosis. We will learn that Thursday October 14th. We won't know what can be done until then, and that appointment will cost 700$. I got the 1200$ number by adding that to his emergency visit last week (200$) and check up/lab tests two weeks before (300$) After that, any treatment will be more and I'll have to add to this. We have enough money to pay for Thursday, but it will severely eat into our rent savings while I am looking for a job that will let me work less than part time. This gofundme is to help replenish that. And to pay for extra treats and home made chicken meals.
