Short Film About Immigrant in NYC

"Anna" is a story about an immigrant in New York City struggling to pursue her dream of higher education. The film aims to provide the audience with an appreciation for the diversity of the immigrant population in the U.S. as well as a better understanding of the work ethic and drive that so many immigrants bring to the country.

I have been fortunate to bring together an amazingly talented team of professionals from the Czech Republic and New York to work on this film - more on this below along with photos from the production.

$10,000+ has been invested to date, by myself and also through a $1,500 grant from Hunter College of The City University of New York.

I am hoping to raise $8,000+ to fund the final stages of the film - 1 day of shooting in Prague (which follows the 6 days in NY we have already shot), the post-production stage which will take place in Prague in May, distribution of the film, and the film festival costs.

I have worked on this film over the past year and am so emotionally and financially invested in it - it would mean so much to me if you are able to help with the final budget for the film. No amount is too small! Thank you so much for your consideration.

SUPPORT FEMALE FILM DIRECTORS! In 2016, just 7% of the top films were directed by women, which declined from the prior year's 9%, according to San Diego State's Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film. I am hopeful that through the production of my film I can inspire girls and other women to pursue their aspirations in film as well.
