On November 26, 2019 my mother Petra Olozagaste was detained by ICE. For eighteen years my mother has tried to become a resident. For eight she has been going back and forth to the ICE office in Downtown San Diego for check - in appointments trying to fix her situation. In 2000 my mother was crossing the southern border to the US and she was caught, and she was told that she couldn't come back to the US for five years. My mother had me in 1995 and my brother Adrian in 1998 when my brother Adrian was three years old, he was diagnosed with autism. My mom had no clue what autism was so she went to Mexico looking for a second opinion and the doctor in Mexico pleaded with my mom and told her to go back to the U.S because everything my brother needed to thrive in life and live a happy and healthy life was in the U.S. So, my parents came to the U.S and my brother now twenty-one has lived a happy and healthy life he is diagnosed with sever autism and epilepsy. My little brother Noe jr is diagnosed with moderate autism. He has also been able to live a happy and healthy life. My mom is currently being held in the Otay Mesa Detention center awaiting her hearings with a judge. For all these years all my mother did was try to fix her situation with our attorney who has been with us for a very long time. In these years my mom has learned English, worked from home as a saleswoman, she is the main care giver for my brother conditions and she's never committed a crime! This a very difficult situation for my family. My brother Adrian has no speech and really has no way of communicating. because of his epilepsy my mother would put him to bed and sleep in his bed with him in case he has a seizure in the middle of the night. since she has been gone, he cannot sleep sometimes the entire night or sometimes until 1 or 2am. My brother Noe jr has had multiple anxiety attacks because of my mother absences and pleads and begs to me and my dad to go get her every day. My father Noe is not currently working because the boys need 24hr around the clock care. when my mother was detained, he was given three months to return to work and after three moths he is to be let go. My father has gone to the hospital a few times now for a pain in his lower abdomen where he has a hernia. When he was seen by a doctor, they told him he needs to have surgery to have this hernia removed. I work full time and attend college and would not be able to provide for my family and care for both my brothers and my father after surgery. Our attorney filed for parole for my mom a few weeks ago and was denied. ICE denied her parole and their reasoning was "she had time to fix her family affairs". Our attorney's goal is to get my mother out of custody, and she is re-filing for parole. We are praying and hoping for the best outcome and that my family is reunited very soon. In the meantime, we are doing our best to ensure that my siblings Adrian, Noe and my sister kelsy who is finishing high school this year continue to be cared for. Our family would appreciate from the bottom of our hearts any donation. This will help pay our attorney's fees as well as our bills, groceries or medical expenses. Anything helps and my family and I would be ever so grateful for anything if it's financial help or prayers for my mom. Thank You.
