Hello, my name is Ramon Viramontes and it hurts to write this with a broken heart but my mother, Petra Esther Gamboa Viramontes passed away in my arms this past Thursday, April 6th at approximately 3 am. These past couple of days we have been trying to understand why this happened to us. She was our best friend and the person my brothers and I would always go to and talk for hours. Although her health condition was deteriorating, we tried to make her life full of love and joy. She taught us to be a close family and to always love each other. She had 3 sons, Antonio, Rolando and myself, Ramon. She also had a beloved daughter-in-law, Greis that gave her three beautiful grandkids who she loved so much. We would always gather every Sunday and share the most beautiful time as a family.
Our mom was such a pure soul and a good person. She would always give to people no matter what and she gave everyone the same love that she gave us. She was so generous and would make sure everyone around her always had a full tummy. Every year we would have our annual ceremony to the Virgen Mary and she would tell everyone to bring a container so they could take food home with them. She would make tamales, pozole and menudo and everyone would eat and have enough to take home. She would say she never knew why the food she made was always so abundant.
We come from a very humble background and she always taught us to be kind no matter what because we never knew what other people were going through.
Unfortunately, her loss came so suddenly that we are trying to raise funds to pay for her funeral service. I know my mom would not want us to ask for help, but it is only human to admit we do need the help and anything, absolutely anything that is in your heart to help with, will be very appreciated. May God bless you.
We have infinite memories of our mother; Her laugh, her kindness and her pure heart will forever be with us.
Thank you,
Viramontes Family
