Petite Pet Inn is a small boarding, daycare, Training and grooming facility located in Richmond Virginia. Covid-19 has effected us all and certainly some more than others.
Petite Pet Inn has always tried to help our community by hiring folks trying to get back on their feet from addiction or homelessness. Recently due to the Covid-19 outbreak, dog boarding has dropped off 100%, and daycare has dropped off to only about 5 dogs a day. We have suspended our dog training program temporarily till the outbreak is over. Only our grooming service is still running but at a reduced volume of 60%.
Because of this Petite Pet Inn has had to lay off 80% of our employees due to lack of business. These were some of our most vulnerable employees. Some have no cars, some had no income last year till they were hired this year by us, so may not be eligible for any unemployment. Some are living in recovery homes without any savings, or money for transportation and living expenses. Others have small children to care for.
As of April 1st Petite Pet Inn will be willingly paying for 2 weeks sick leave for each employee regardless of situation. But we want to do more while at the same time making sure they will all have a job to come back to when this is all over.
We are asking for any monetary help you can give us. 100% of the money will go directly to bring back onto payroll as many employees as we can till this emergency is over. We will find things for them to do.
Your help will mean Petite Pet Inn will be able to start paying employees again which will enable employees to pay for food, rent, transportation, utility bills and much more. Most importantly will bring back a sense of self worth, and self determination.
Lastly, I wish to thank all our fabulous clientele that have already responded to a previous call for help with a generous outpouring of cash, gift cards and well wishing! We are in the process of purchasing food, providing some transportation and paying some rent with all the outpouring of generosity so far.
