Help Our Dad Fight Cancer Please!
Donation protected
In early June 2018, Peter Tanzini was tragically diagnosed with advanced stage 4 colon rectal cancer. He is 68 years old and is an amazing father, a loving husband, and a terrific caring grandfather.
Right now, Peter is fighting for his life! Although he used to be strong and healthy, the cancer has ravaged his body into an emaciated state, weighing in at a shocking 105lbs! He is 6ft tall and use to weigh 165lbs. This extreme weight loss is due to the cancer and is known as cancer cachexia. This illness involves the wasting away of muscle mass of the body and is nothing short of deadly! This condition makes him dangerously frail and weak and it is very challenging to put weight back on. He is unable to walk more than a few steps without almost collapsing in exhaustion.
As for the tumor, it is growing rapidly and now has invaded his prostate and bladder. He is weak, tired, and nauseous. He is currently undergoing two kinds of chemotherapy (infusion and daily pills) with a tentative plan to follow that involves radiation and finally a big 9 hour operation which involves 5 different specialists operating in concert to remove the tumor, along with follow-up chemo. He has completed 3 rounds of chemo so far. We are anticipating a scan after the 4th round of chemotherapy.
It has become very apparent that time is of the essence. Our family has depleted all funds in this fight to cure him from cancer. The medical bills are piling up to well over tens of thousands of dollars. He needs lots of medications, continuous medical supplies, special diet foods, protein drinks, supplements, etc. etc.
He began some alternative treatments to kill the cancer. He has completed about 1/3 of the treatment so far. The good news is we believe it’s working...the bad news is that it is very expensive! Insurance will not pay for it, nor other things. Just the estimated remaining cost alone for this treatment is about $10,000. He is going to continue chemo in addition to this but we believe very strongly in this alternative treatment plan along with the chemo. We believe the combination of these treatments, along with other very helpful alternative treatments will make him cancer-free.
Most of the summer Pete and his family spent it in and out of hospitals, emergency rooms, doctors offices, and even the ambulance. He has endured so much pain and suffering, recovering from painful surgery, coping with difficult procedures and chronic bladder infections, and the list goes on. It has been beyond difficult for Pete to come to terms with his diagnosis and the fight ahead. He is courageously trying very hard to win his battle against cancer. Knowing there is ample money for treatment and care, along with easing the burden of the bills would be a tremendous comfort to Pete, allowing him to focus on his recovery. Money can be such a distraction, taking us away from whats truly the important focus...getting our Dad well.
There is also a need for additional funds to help pay the bills during this difficult time, as Pete is unable to work and has not worked in several months. We don’t know if he will be able to resume restoring antiques as an income in the future. Our Dad is a 3rd generation antiques dealer specializing in buying, selling, and restoring American antique wicker furniture. He has earned the reputation of being a top notch restoration specialist in this field, bringing back to life many treasured heirlooms for generations to enjoy.
We know that his road to recovery will be long. Therefore, we ask for your prayers, your help in sharing this Go Fund Me page with your friends, family, & neighbors, and we humbly ask for any financial help you can donate to our Dad’s desperate cause. He has always been there for us...let us reciprocate the favor and be there for him when he needs us the most! Pete is a very kind, gentle, and compassionate person. He deserves this chance to win the battle before him. Having this money literally stands between our Dad’s life and death!
Anyone who knows me, my brother, my mother, and my family knows darn well that we would never ask for help or money but desperate times calls for desperate measures. We would truly appreciate it if you could find it in your heart to help us through this difficult time with any donation possible.
Thank you & God Bless!
