Pete had a tough start to life. He was abandoned at the Humane Society in Bucyrus, Ohio, and there were signs he had been abused. When I went to look at a rescue, I visited the kennel and every dog was barking except Pete—he was quietly staring at me. I knew he was my guy at that moment, and our bond has been legendary ever since. Pete is a kind soul who brings joy wherever he goes.

Now 10 years old, Pete is super fit for his age, but he recently suffered a bad knee injury while running hills. Because of this, he can’t do the things he loves anymore, like long walks and trail runs. It’s heartbreaking to see him in pain and unable to enjoy life as he used to. After consulting with our vet, we learned that Pete needs TPLO surgery, which is the gold standard to get him back to 100%.
