Peterson Recovery Fund

Hey friends and family. This fund is for Michaela and Timothy Peterson.

Saturday night they were hit by a vehicle while riding the dual sport (motorcycle). The teenager who hit them fled the scene but has since been taken into custody. Michaela took the brunt of the impact from the car and was thrown off and Timothy was thrown off on impact as seen by a witness.

Michaela had emergency surgery Saturday (middle of the) night to save her leg due to extensive injuries. She has two breaks in her femur and a break in her tibia. The surgery was successful in saving her leg by placing rods and pins. The recovery time is 6-12 months. She had a plate placed on her clavicle Sunday. Pins were placed in her foot, and it is pretty banged up. She will need to undergo at least one more surgery. She has swelling, cuts, scrapes, and bruising but is in her room resting now.

Timothy has a break in his femur also. He had surgery Sunday morning. He is in his room resting now.

The accident and rehabilitation will take months and months to recover from. Timothy will be out of work as he rests and heals. Michaela will need help for herself and Gabby as she is a stay at home parent tending to a very active two year old. They will need help with LJ’s carpooling to school. The hospital bills, medications, equipment, rehab, home assistance, etc will be an unexpected financial hardship.

We would love to lighten this burden! Our family would ask that you pray about giving to this precious family. They will need assistance once they return home. They will have tons of medical bills since they do not have health insurance to help cover those costs. The everyday tasks will be more difficult as they recover from injuries over these upcoming months. Extra help will be needed for the girls. This all takes money and prayer! If it’s $1 or $100, please consider giving to Michaela, Timothy, LJ, and Gabby. We really appreciate you! I know they will appreciate any help that is given!

We also ask for prayer during this difficult time. If you are not in a place to give monetarily, please send a prayer up for the Peterson and Gabbard families. God has already answered prayers by putting a hedge of protection around them, saving her leg, and bringing them both out of surgery. Specific prayer requests now are for Michaela’s foot and both of them for complete healing from all injuries.

As more updates come, we will update you. Thank you for you help and prayers. We serve a mighty God who has already had His hands holding His children. Nurses explained that Michaela and Timothy’s helmets saved their lives!  (Skid marks on the top of both helmets show they landed directly on their heads.). We know it was that and our awesome Father’s hands!
