My husband, Peter, passed away unexpectedly and for unknown reasons on June 10th. He was a simple man, with a strong faith. You may have seen him around town at the library, Tom's Cards, or just out for a walk. He was quick to be friendly and to help others, and would give his last dollar or the shirt off his back if he thought he could help. In fact, he did both of those things, often when there wasn't much to give, because he believed in taking care of others who may not be as blessed as we were. Peter was notorious for his love of all animals and his belief that we should be a voice for them. He loved his books and games; loved his 80s music and working with swords; but most of all he loved his family and gave everything he could to us.
Now I'm hoping the good people of our community will help raise the funds to send him to his final rest. He didn't have life insurance and was barely squeaking by so had no savings. I've tried to sell everything I can to raise the funds, and would never ask for help if it wasn't needed. It was only due to the overwhelming support from our community and friends who expressed the wish to help that I finally decided to set up this fund for him. If the funds raised exceed the amount of his expenses, all excess funds will be donated to a no-kill animal shelter to help the four-legged friends who gave him such joy.
Thank you for any help you're able to give, whether it be through donation or by getting the word out that this is needed. We are blessed to be part of this community, and I am blessed to be allowed to see this outpouring of support for a man who was believed his life was not important in the grand scheme, even though I knew it was. May his spirit find peace and know that he is loved.
