Help for Peter

After much consideration, my good friends and I have decided to open a “Go Fund Me” page for my brother, Peter. Peter has always been a hardworking, compassionate, and humble individual. He has worked tirelessly to support many causes and individuals through the years even though many of those years were spent working hard to overcome various financial set-backs of his own.
Several years ago, my sister-in-law, Jo-Ann was stricken while at work with what was initially thought to be a stroke. Many tests and hospitalizations since have led them on a sometimes exhausting journey which has yet to yield a definitive diagnosis, but which has left her with physical limitations that preclude employment.
Peter’s world was additionally rocked when on the night of May 15, 2015 while out walking his dog, he was struck by a person driving a truck. I will never forget receiving that phone call or having to tell my parents that I was taking them to Manchester to see their son as he lay in the hospital intensive care unit fighting for his life and suffering from a traumatic brain injury. And fight he did while never once complaining through all of his subsequent pain and suffering (Anara, his dog and constant companion is fine!) We have been extremely blessed that he has recovered and has returned to work while continuing to deal with some residual issues, and again, never with complaint. Many financial ramifications continue due to the fact that the driver had limited insurance.
In January of this year, Peter was involved in another motor vehicle accident when yet again, an individual driving a truck, ran through a stop sign and slammed Peter’s car into an apartment building. He was taken to the hospital where an immediate MRI showed no additional brain injury. His car was a total loss.
So many of you have helped Peter and Jo-Ann in so many ways over the past few years and for that we all are extremely grateful. It is very difficult for him to accept help or to seek it. We decided to start this page in response to requests that I still receive asking for ways that others can give back and assist him as he continues to work through the lingering financial aspects of all their medical and life circumstances .
