Peter & Zoey Van Waardhuizen have always had a heart for adoption and after 8 years of marriage have been blessed by the Lord with an opportunity to adopt.
Peter and Zoey married in 2018, and in 2021 they moved from Alberta to Kisbey, Saskatchewan where Peter was being called to help in the ministry and planting of a biblical, reformed and confessional baptist church. In January of 2022 the Lord blessed this work and Moose Mountain Reformed Baptist Church was planted in Arcola, Saskatchewan. In November of 2024 Peter became a fully supported pastor by the congregation. Peter & Zoey are now working towards adopting through the Snowflake embryo adoption program.

Within the embryo adoption process comes many expenses such as agency fees, home study costs, clinic fees, as well as travel expenses to the clinic in the USA. The Snowflake program is provided by the American agency, Nightlight Christian Adoption which means all costs will be in United States Dollars.

Please see below for more information on the Snowflakes embryo adoption program from a written statement from Peter and Zoey:

“Nightlight Christian Adoption is a Christian based organization that seeks to find homes for frozen embryos through there Snowflake embryo adoption program. Snowflakes has helped couples that have gone through IVF with remaining embryos in frozen storage to choose life by selecting an adopting family through there services.

Life begins at conception and therefore we do not condone the practice of IVF. When a couple does IVF multiple embryos are created but couples will typically only use a select few from the embryos created and will then freeze or discard any remaining embryos. Thankfully there are couples that do see these remaining embryos that have been created through IVF as lives that deserve the chance to be born into this world. Couples can choose to donate their remaining embryos to the Snowflake adoption program where they will then find families willing to adopt these lives that have been frozen in time. It is estimated that there is about 1.5 million frozen embryos just in the states alone. Without couples willing to adopt these lives they will eventually be discarded or frozen indefinitely.

When we learned about embryo adoption we saw it as a great opportunity to save a life, by giving an embryo a chance to be born into this world.
The beauty of the Snowflake program is that when you are matched with a donor family, you are taking on the responsibility of all there remaining embryos that have been frozen which means there is potential for us to adopt more than one child.
We understand this process will have its hardships as embryos can sometimes not transfer well or may miscarry but the goal is to give a child/children who have been frozen in time a chance at being born in this world.

While embryo adoption is substantially cheaper than international adoption, the costs associated with the agency, clinic, and travel fees are more than we can afford.

There is a link below for more information about the Snowflake embryo adoption program if you want to better understand the process.”

On behalf of Peter and Zoey, we thank you for any support you are able to give. This fundraiser will not only see our beloved brother and sister in Christ become parents, but we will joyfully see these frozen embryos raised in a home that aims to honour and glorify our Triune God.
If you are unable to give financially at this time, we would appreciate your prayers for Peter and Zoey during this process.

Soli Deo Gloria
