Hi friends,
If you’ve been sent this link and opened it, it means you’re a person who is lucky enough to know and be friends with the kind, generous, amazing human that is Peter Waghorn.
Whether you’ve known him for a month or a decade, you’ll know that he is an absolutely selfless bloke, always willing to do whatever he can for those around him. Well, now he needs a little love and help in return.
For anyone who’s not aware, Pete has been dealing with back pain and related issues for a few years now. In the past 18 months, these have gotten significantly worse. He’s been getting by on pretty heavy duty painkillers for a while now, but only just barely.
The only solution for this long term, is looking like potentially expensive surgical options. This is a slow process, with some significant expenses along the way, especially so in the midst of a pandemic when your income is reliant on physical labour, and you’re in so much pain you can barely get out of bed some days.
In the immediate future, he’s looking down the barrel of MRIs, specialist appointments, and then hopefully surgery to finally sort him out. Medicare will help, but only part of the way, and there’s a lot of upfront cost involved in diagnosis.
When Pete messaged me and said "I don't know what to do, I'm not sleeping due to the pain. I wake up screaming its that bad." It sent chills through me due to my lack of being able to adequately help. I knew I had to do something.
Pete would never directly ask anyone for this kind of help, but he’s shown all of us so much unconditional love, support, and friendship over the years that helping out and giving back now is the least we can do. Even if you can only give a little, every dollar helps.
He also doesn’t know about this, so let’s keep it secret so we can surprise him.
Whater is donated by Saturday the 13th of Feb, I'll pull out and hand to him. Hopefully this helps.
