In Loving Memory of Our Friend Peter

Our dear friend Peter passed away peacefully in his sleep early Thursday morning. The doctors shared that he had a sudden heart complication — a rupture in his aorta connected to high blood pressure. The coroner assured us that he didn’t suffer. They also found that his heart was enlarged… something we all knew in our own way, because Peter truly had the biggest heart.

Peter was a bright light with an infectious laugh and a presence that made everyone around him feel good. He cared deeply for his friends and family and had a way of lifting others up — whether it was through a joke, a smile, or just his calming yet vibrant energy. He made everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved.

Most of us were lucky enough to know Peter through our beach volleyball community, where he was not only a talented player and healthy competitor but also the one who brought joy and laughter to every game. The court won’t be the same without his freindly banter, his big grin, and his joy for the game.

Peter loved traveling, volleyball, the Rams and Dodgers, his family and friends, but most of all he loved his wife and life partner Juste. He supported her in every way, whether that was encouraging her to dig short balls on the court or helping her start her own dental practice. Peter's love for Juste shined the brightest.

Peter was stripped from us far too soon. We are all mourning the lost time with this dear man who was taken too early, even as we celebrate the special opportunity we had to know him — and the lasting impact he’s had on all of us. The memories, the laughter, and the love he shared will stay with us forever.

Peter is survived by his loving wife Juste, his sister Lydia and nephew Luka, and his parents Lieu (mom) & Chieu (dad) . Juste has asked, in lieu of flowers, to support this GoFundMe to help with her unexpected costs of this horrible loss and the Celebration of Life. She is navigating something none of us can imagine and any help to ease the burden will be appreciated so she can focus on honoring Peter.
