Peter Olson's Snowboarding Accident Fund
Donation protected

My name is Ryan Schroepfer and I have created this fundraiser for my good friend Peter Olson. On Saturday, January 30th around 2:30 in the afternoon, Peter had a very serious crash snowboarding at Mt. Bohemia in northern Michigan. As a result of the crash, Peter sustained a severe compound fracture of his right tibia and fibula which tore much of the surrounding muscle and tendons. Peter had to suffer through an hour long rescue process before finally arriving at the bottom of the mountain where an ambulance was waiting. He was immediately brought to a hospital in Calumet, MI and had to undergo surgery shortly after. He is stable and being kept at the hospital in Michigan for a week while the doctors monitor for infection and wait for the swelling to go down. He will then be transferred to a hospital in Green Bay where he will undergo more surgery on the surrounding tissues. Luckily, we were with the right group of people who were all quick to jump in and assist the situation which enabled us to get Ski Patrol and an ambulance there as quickly as possible.
Peter is 24 years old and is a resident of Green Bay, Wisconsin where he is a machinist at Fabio Perini Inc. He can often be found riding his bike around town or at the local skate parks. His passions in life are riding his BMX bike and snowboarding. Anyone who meets Pete instantly knows how genuine and kind hearted of a person he is. Even during the waiting period for ski patrol, Peter was apologizing to us for “ruining our skiing time”. Peter is one of the most selfless people I know, and that’s why I would like to try to help him out anyway possible. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him, but if anyone can get through it, it is Peter. To aid him with his upcoming medical bills and financial setbacks, I would like to raise funds for him. He likely will be out of work for several months. Peter did not ask for this to be made, I am just trying to do what I can for my friend. Every little bit helps. Thank you very much.
