Peter Newbold Brain Tumour Support

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

I'm writing this in hope to help my brother, Pete.  The night before his birthday on Wednesday 15th May, Pete was rushed to hospital after having two seizures. After some scans and testing he was diagnosed with not one but two brain tumours, one in either side of his brain. He needs surgery as soon as possible to remove as much of the larger tumour, which is the size of a 50 cent piece. They will then test that tumour to work out what they can do for the other tumour. Because of the size of the other tumour he will probably need a second surgery. Pete's best chance of survival rests on these major operations, and much further treatment.

Peter is a loving husband to his wife Tahnee and amazing father of two to ten year old Cooper and two year old Fin. As you can imagine their lives have been completely flipped upside down in a matter of moments.

Peter would never want to ask for help or anyone to make a fuss. I'm hoping to take some pressure off this beautiful family to get them through this crucial time and help them get back to some sort of normal and happy life.

 PETERS STORY:

On Wednesday May 15, while sorting through some things in his garage at home Peter had a seizure. His 10 year old son Cooper found him lying on the ground convulsing and not breathing properly. This was the first time he had ever had a seizure.  Cooper ran to find his mum Tahnee to help. Tahnee immediately called an Ambulance that arrived soon after. Pete was rushed straight to the hospital where on the way he suffered a second seizure.

An MRI at the Gold Coast Hospital revealed the news that Peter has two tumours, one as large as a 50c coin, the other as large as a 20c coin on either side of his brain.

Peter turned 31 the same day he discovered this horrible news. Further tests and scans were conducted that day and doctors decided it best to operate as soon as possible on the bigger tumour. Doctors will assess the treatment options on the second tumour pending results from the first operation. The surgery is booked in for this coming Friday.

Peter and Tahnee do not have any private health or income protection insurance and due to these unforseen health issues Peter will not be able to work or drive for the foreseeable future. Petes wife Tahnee owns and operates a small business called Minchkins. Anyone who knows Tahnee, knows how hard she works and she is always one to help others out. Tahnee's business will suffer a severe blow due to the constant care she will need to provide Peter through the recovery and rehabilitation process for the coming months/years.

Unfortunately life will not just stop to let Peter and his family battle through this nightmare. 10 year old Cooper will need to get to and from school, 2 year old Fin needs full time parenting plus the mortgage and bills still need to be paid.

OUR GOAL:

Our current goal is to raise enough funds to take the financial pressure off Tahnee and Peter so they can focus on battling this horrible disease, get well, and maintain some sort of quality of life for themselves and their beautiful boys.
