Peter Mazur

On September 28th 2020 our loving brother, Peter Mazur, was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. It all started six months ago when Peter began to experience multiple health concerns.  For six months he went to his doctor time and time again, having test after test, and was getting no relief as his health continued to deteriorte. Peter was at a loss and decided to get a second opinion. With the new doctor, who knew something major was going on, he was able to finally get answers, though it was never an answer any of us expected or wanted to hear. The new doctor informed Peter that all the images taken from the prior doctor were of the area just above where the mass was found. He was told the cancer had been there for several months and now with the time that has passed, the cancer has spread to his liver and lymph nodes. In one week he will begin his four month journey of chemotherapy and then radiation to follow. Due to his declining health over the last six months, Peter has had to take many days off and since July has been unable to work. He has now had to accept the fact that he will be unable to return. In a couple weeks he will be losing his insurance and will be without any form of income until government aid becomes available. Not only is Peter worrying about his health, he is now overwhelmed with the realization he may lose his home as he is struggling to pay his mortgage and bills. Peter is such a caring and selfless father, brother, son, and friend. He has never hesitated to help when there has been family in need and not once did he ever expect anything in return. Now, however, he may be trying to hold things together and be strong, but it is his time to need us and for us to do all we can to help him during this time of great need.
