Peter Laurencin Cancer Fund

On April 26, 2021, Peter Laurencin was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of the stomach. Which came as a complete shock to him and his family, as Peter was given a clean bill of health in December 2020 by his doctors. Four months later he found himself having stomach problems which were diagnosed as Kidney Stones but as the unbearable pain increased, he flew to Florida for a second opinion. Within a few days, he was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of stomach cancer which requires him to be on an aggressive chemotherapy treatment plan. This treatment involves Peter being hospitalized for intensive chemo for a week each month. Based on the findings of his physician, the treatment plan is estimated to last for approximately 6- 8 months through early 2022. As Peter goes through his chemo treatments, he is experiencing debilitating and painful side effects. However, he tries to maintain a sense of humor throughout as we all know how much he loves to laugh.

Peter is very active in our community, whether it’s working on peoples boats, installing satellite dishes or being involved at his church. All of us that know Peter, know him for his contagious smile and constant willingness to help others. He is now in need of some help from all of us!

This time has been very challenging for Peter and his family. Due to the sudden timing of his illness, it has taken a major blow on him physically, mentally, and emotionally. Peter will be taking an extended leave of absence from work and will have to reside in Florida for the duration of his treatment. All of this is going to cause a financial strain for him and his family as they navigate fighting this awful disease. Many have asked how they can support Peter and his family through this journey. Friends and members of the local community suggested creating a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses.
