Help Peter Bury His Sister and Niece

Donation protected
This is my new friend Peter Kominowski. Peter called me today asking for prayer and encouragement as he mourns the sudden loss of his sister Shaniece and his niece Valaroy after being hit by a drunk driver. Peter is the only living family member left, and needs to travel from Minnesota to Atlanta so that he can claim their bodies and give them a proper burial. The cost of the round trip Amtrak ticket is $341, and he will likely be gone for 2 weeks and will need food during that time. His housing is covered. There may also be miscellaneous expenses, so I am setting the initial goal at $2000 just to really bless him and alleviate any concerns he would have. Would you help show the Lord's care and provision for him? All funds will come to me, and I will distribute them directly to him as they come in.

The first paragraph covers the entire current situation, but if you want to hear more about his story, keep reading.

Peter has a heart-wrenching story, with many more ongoing needs than just this situation. When Peter was 5 months old, his mother gave him up for adoption. He shared with me that the family who adopted him abused him horribly. They were a white family, and told him directly that they were abusing him because they despised black people. He wonders to this day if they adopted him specifically to abuse him. And yet, this family regularly attended church all the while, and claimed that Jesus was the center of their world. When I heard this, all I could do was put my head in my hands and sit silently. So disgusting.

When Peter was 9 years old his adoptive parents told him one day to pack his bags and leave. He entered foster care until he was 18. Peter tried to find regular work doing fast food and other entry level positions, but his mind was wracked with trauma, anxiety, and PTSD to the extent where he was never able to hold a steady job for long. He has been on Social Security for decades in order to at least have his basic needs met.

Peter moved up to Minnesota about a year ago in order to get some specific treatment and procedures at Mayo Clinic. Peter has never driven or had a license, and suffers from limited physical mobility. He has Avascular Necrosis , Arthritis , and Neuropathy . In short, he is in constant pain and has a hard time even moving across the house. He also is getting checked for lung cancer soon, due to a history of smoking. Peter will be having a hip replacement soon, which he fears will cost enormously more than he can afford. I have not incorporated any of those cost projections into this initial request, but don't be surprised if you see an updated request here in the near future.

Peter shared with me that about 8 years ago he completed a discipleship program in Las Vegas, and gave his life to Christ. I told Peter as he shared with me that I found him to be an incredible person. It seems that somehow the Lord has protected his heart from becoming bitter and angry. He was honest with me that he does wonder why some people do have to go through so much suffering, but he expressed a deep trust in the Lord. We also both celebrated that one day Peter will have a new body, that he will have complete peace and joy, in a way that he has never known once in his life, and that he will be with his truly good Heavenly Father for eternity.

Peter let me lay hands and pray over him at the end of our conversation. He and I talked about the power of forgiveness and how it's a vital part of the healing process the Lord wants to continue to do in his life. I also prayed for God's complete healing and restoration in his body right now, and that any residual work or plans of the enemy would be destroyed in his life.

Thank you, friends for reading this far. Please pray with me that the Lord would transform these latter years in Peter's life, where he can find personal purpose and significance from the very heart of God, and a deeper level of healing than he ever dreamt possible.
