My name is Jack Kohl, former President of the Northport Running Club. It is with regret yet hope that I report the following. We all know the kindness and good spirits of Peter Klann in the running community and at large. Last week Peter suffered a heart attack which has left him with enormous medical bills and other serious financial and practical concerns. I am calling on the running community and all his friends and loved ones to take the opportunity to step in immediately to help a good man who needs help now.

a message from Peter:
Hello everybody! It is with sincere regret and, with quite a knock to the nose of my pride, that I present myself to you like this. Unfortunately life's little surprises really ambushed me this time. I am ashamed to tell you that I was in "bad shape" before "this thing happened" and then,... this thing happened!!! It happened to me when I was "in between jobs" and without insurance to boot. What a mess.
I am hoping for a shot at a second chance at life, a do-over, if you will. I'd like to thank everyone for their concern and am greedily accepting any and all prayers as well.
p.s.-I'm all ears for any decent job offers too!
