Peter Hewitt, Missionary, life taken too soon
Donation protected
Hi my name is Laurie, daughter of Peter Hewitt, who in the early hours of March 8, 2023 (Australia Time), passed away after being attacked at his home in Bungoma, Kenya. We have all been shocked by the trauma of his passing and this is never more evident than by the local display of sorrow that spread through the community he loved and served so passionately.
Peter’s life has always been dedicated to the fulfilling of God’s call and we find peace in the knowledge that now he can rest in the hope of his eternal destiny with our Heavenly Father.
The Family would like to take this time to thank everyone for the warm and loving support we have received, and our gratitude is hard to express in words.
All who know Peter will know his daughter Pamala who is not only dealing with the death of her father but now finds herself without a legal carer. We have been in communication with her and whilst she is an amazingly resilient and strong teenager, she is now also very vulnerable.
The financial reality we now face as a family has led us to the establishment of this Go Fund Me Page. It is with regret that we need to put this request out into the public, but it is unfortunately outside of our means to deal with the mounting costs associated with facilitating the funeral, securing Pamela’s future and navigating the Kenyan Estate laws. To this end we have an initial estimate of around 18,500 AUD but even this amount is subject to several variables we will have to deal with when they become evident. Adding to this pressure is the urgency for the funds to settle some immediate costs associated with the funeral. Dad’s body is being moved from Bungoma to Nakuru, 6 hours away and will be laid to rest beside my much loved and missed mother, Sylvia Hewitt, who also passed in Africa, May 31, 2009.
Should you wish to know the specifics of the cost please feel free to reach out to us and we will answer any questions you may have. Should any funds be left over after all the bills have been settled, the balance will be used to ensure Pamela’s future or continuing dad’s legacy in Africa.
We want to thank you for supporting our father, your friend, and Gods faithful worker with any size donation you see fit.
