Peter Fights Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Peter Antioho is a West Point graduate and Army veteran. When he was deployed in 2012, Peter walked through dense, black smoke from an open burn pit on his Army base in Afghanistan every day. Human and medical waste, plastic water bottles, ammunition and chemicals were among the materials burned with diesel fuel 24 hours a day.
Five years later, Peter was diagnosed with an aggressive, terminal brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme, likely caused by his constant exposure to the burn pit. His symptoms include memory loss and impaired vision, speech and motor function. He can't work and needs constant supervision due to unpredictable seizures.
Peter's wife, Amy, has been his primary caregiver ever since her husband was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Amy has had to leave her own career to be at home to help her husband. She manages all of his medications, appointments, symptoms, and VA paperwork while also taking care of their 3 year old son.
Donations to this fund will go straight to the Antioho family to help them through this difficult time. Funding will be used for medical expenses, additional in-home care for Peter, and financial support while their ability to work is limited.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting Peter and Amy Antioho.
Update from Peter, Amy & Mark: "We would like to express our gratitude for the humbling generosity of these donations. These funds are helping us get the best care possible for Peter so that he can continue to be an amazing husband and father.”
