Bonjour à tous, je m’appelle Rain. Si vous connaissez Peter, vous savez qu’il est l’homme qui répond toujours présent. Que ce soit pour sa famille, ses amis, ses collègues, ses joueurs ou joueuses de soccer, ou pour mes trois filles et moi, Peter est littéralement «one call away». C'est quelqu'un qui sort constamment de son chemin pour faciliter celui des autres. Toujours positif, il est là où il faut l’être en cas de besoin.

Aujourd’hui, c’est moi qui souhaite sortir du mien pour l’aider à traverser l’une des étapes les plus éprouvantes de sa vie.

L'histoire : Le don de soi

Depuis 2019, Peter a consacré une énergie immense à soutenir sa maman durant sa maladie. Elle a combattu un cancer du colon, deux opération, la polyarthrite et des traitements de chimiothérapie agressifs. Dans les derniers jours de vie de sa maman, Peter a choisi d’être pleinement présent à ses côtés. Pendant deux mois, jour pour jour, il s’est absenté du travail, sans rémunération, sans aucune entrée d’argent, alors que la vie, elle, continuait son cours avec ses paiements et ses obligations.

Pour lui et Mme Jasmine Eustache, ces moments ont été inestimables. Un temps d’amour pur, où la maman redevient un peu l’enfant, et où le fils devient parent, aide soignant, infirmier, préposé, chauffeur pour les rendez-vous, et surtout accompagnateur en soins palliatifs à domicile. Rien ni personne ne pourra enlever la dignité et la tendresse de ces instants partagés.

Aujourd’hui, alors que Mme Eustache a entrepris son dernier voyage, Peter a besoin de notre soutien, moral, amical et financier. Les deux mois passés auprès de sa maman ont laissé un vide financier important. Toute contribution, peu importe le montant, l’aidera à se remettre à jour et à faire face aux dépenses des prochaines semaines.

Hello everyone, my name is Rain.

If you know Peter, you know he’s the kind of man who always shows up. For his family, his friends, his colleagues, his soccer players, and for my three daughters and me, Peter is truly “one call away.” He’s someone who constantly goes out of his way to make life easier for others. Always positive, always present, he’s there exactly when and where he’s needed.

Today, it’s my turn to go out of my way to help him through one of the most difficult chapters of his life.

The story: A gift of self

Since 2019, Peter has devoted an immense amount of energy to supporting his mother throughout her illness. She battled colon cancer, underwent two surgeries, lived with rheumatoid arthritis, and endured aggressive chemotherapy treatments. In the final days of his mother’s life, Peter chose to be fully present by her side. For two months, day after day, he stepped away from work, without pay, without any source of income, while life continued with its bills and responsibilities.

For him and Mrs. Jasmine Eustache, those moments were priceless. A time of pure love, where the mother becomes a little like a child again, and the son becomes the parent, the caregiver, the nurse, the attendant, the driver to appointments, and above all, the companion in home palliative care. Nothing and no one can ever take away the dignity and tenderness of those shared moments.

Today, as Mrs. Eustache has begun her final journey, Peter needs our support; moral, emotional, and financial. The two months spent caring for his mother have left a significant financial gap. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help him catch up and face the expenses of the coming weeks.
