In Loving Memory of Peter Phan

Donation protected

On July 6th at 2:45pm, Peter was reported missing while paddle boarding with a friend at Cle Elum Lake in Ronald, WA. The search for him continued on for days until his body was found on July 9th at 3:30pm.

Peter’s final moments stayed true to who he was as a person. An adventurous and selfless hero who cared for others before himself.

He had given his life jacket to the friend he shared the paddle board with.

Peter wasn’t found for days which left his family and friends clinging on to hope and a miracle for his survival. His loved ones knew he was a fighter and would fight to survive as he had many times before.

He experienced kidney failure at the age of 17 and waited over ten years to receive an available and compatible transplant. His transplanted kidneys previously belonged to a young child that had passed in a tragic accident. He was inspired by this opportunity of another chance at life.

After receiving his transplant, his mantra became “I’m living a life for two.”,  in honor of his late donor. He pursued his dreams of becoming a career firefighter, he completed marathons, he road tripped across the states, and he had plans of studying cyber-security after recently obtaining his Associate’s degree.

Peter Chanly Phan
Our beloved brother, son, friend, and hero.
May his spirit of adventure, service, and selflessness carry on in his eternal paradise.
We will always love and remember you.

He cared so much for his family and friends. We want to thank you all for being in his life, and allowing him to experience the happiness that he truly deserved during and after all his hardships. The laughs, lessons, smiles, adventures, and friendships you’ve all shared with Peter were invaluable to him and for that we are forever grateful. Thank you to his extended Mountain View Fire & Rescue family and his closest friends for their endless love, prayers, and support.

Family, friends, and anyone wishing to pay their respects:
Please standby for information regarding his memorial services as we plan forward. We ask that you please respect the family’s wishes to practice our ceremonial Buddhist traditions as well.

Any donations will go towards the memorial services and his family.
He is survived by his mother, step-father, sister, three brothers, and nephews that loved their superhero & firefighter uncle dearly. We thank you for any donations towards his memorial services. For further inquiries please contact this page privately.
