Support NT Young Australian to attend UN Climate Conference

Donation protected
My name is Peter Susanto, I am 17 years old and a medical student in the Northern Territory Medical Program. I am the 2024 NT Young Australian of the Year.
This year, I am incredibly excited that I have been selected as one of only four Australian youth delegates for the 2024 Emerging Climate Leaders Program, the first ever delegate from the Northern Territory.
This selection offers me the unique opportunity to attend COP29, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from the 11th to 22nd November 2024. As part of this program, I will have the extraordinary privilege of accessing the Blue Zone, where formal negotiations between governments take place, requiring a specific type of accreditation.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will equip me with invaluable knowledge and skills to contribute to sustainable development in the NT and Australia.
However, attending COP29 comes with significant costs—approximately $18,000—which is a large sum for a young student like me. Therefore, I am humbly seeking your assistance to help cover some of these expenses. Your support would not only enable me to take part in this crucial global conversation but would also empower me to bring back valuable insights to our community.
Any surplus funds will be donated to Melanoma Institute Australia to help the work of my friends Professor Georgina Long and Professor Richard Scolyer, 2024 Australians of the Year.
