UPDATE MARCH 19TH.
Peter is awake! And beating all odds, he still has a long long road to recovering but his determination and positive approach is nothing short of inspiring! Please keep sharing! Although insurance covers many things Peter and his family will need in this journey, they have to pay upfront then submit reciepts for reimbursement. And some costs are not covered at all. Peter has a DAI level 3 brain injury, his rehabilitation will be a long haul for him and his parents.
Once again thank you for all of the support to date. It really takes a village. Please, if donating is not possible, please leave well wishes and share. It would be greatly appreciated and helps more than you know.
UPDATE: March3 rd
Peter is getting stronger everyday, he is still sedated but hes no longer in a coma! While his lungs still need some assistance, Peter is starting to initiate breaths on his own!! today he was very strongly “purposefully” reaching his arm and a nurse had to use two hands to restrain him. Petey also slightly squinted his eyes and moved his head today when they checked his pupils. These are all very positive things, these are wins! His left leg finally responded a bit to some stimulation today. Peter is fighting SO hard and doing so amazing, although there have been some downs, he has overcome them and we are focusing on the wins and having faith. We are so unbelievably proud of peter and can’t wait for more good news to share!!
Thank everyone for your support and continued thoughts and prayers for everyone involved!! Please keep sending Peter, Will and Matt all the love and good energy!! Please take a moment out of your day to pray for them, they need all the positivity they can get!
UPDATE: I want to thank everyone for their support Peter's family is so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support!
There are no words to express our gratitude.
The prayers are working! Drs are starting to wake him up slowly! He's coming back to us!! Please keep praying and sharing! He's fighting so hard to come back to us!
On Monday Feb 24th my sister and brother in law got a call no parent ever wants. Their son Peter was in a horrific car accident on his way to work in manotick. The vehicle he was in got hit from behind by a school bus. He is in critical care at the civic hospital fighting for his life. Peter suffered a brain injury. He is currently in an induced coma while we wait for the swelling to go down in his brain.
He has a very long road of recovery ahead. If you know my sisters family or Petey, you know how incredibly loving and caring they are. Peter is 22 and has so many life plans and dreams for his future. He is truly the kindest, most caring human you could ever ask for.
Between the stay at hospital and rehab that Peter will need, the reality is they need financial help durring this incredibly difficult time.
They have to focus on him and not worry about how bills will be paid. I am humbly asking if anyone can donate or share this. Thank you for your time and reading our plea for help.
