The Bizzoco's are no strangers to hard times. We are tried and tested time and time again. We never give up. We do not take back steps or roll over in defeat, we fight.

On June 30th, I began a battle to get back on my feet, this time literally. While celebrating the moving up of Giada, me, the SUPER dad/husband/brother/uncle, got badly injured on the water slide (it was meant for all ages, I'm sure). I overshot the slide and wound up skipping half the slide, landing at the bottom with my body nearly in a scorpion pose. Immediately, I knew I was in trouble and lost complete feeling and control from the waist down. After an excruciating ambulance ride and ER evaluation, it was determined that I did not sever my spinal cord or break any vertebrae. Amazing news!!! What I did do was badly bruise a section of my spinal cord causing inflammation to basically shut off my legs. Everyone is hopeful that I can make a full recovery but it is going to take time and a lot of hard work. The plan is to move from Stony Brook Hospital to St Charles Inpatient Rehab to get the best care possible. Since the nature of my injury is trauma and inflammation, there is no way to project how long the recovery will be.

I've never been the type to expect or even ask for a handout but at this point, we feel it may be needed to keep up with the bill's that will quickly be piling up. Our insurance is covering a great deal but as everyone knows, the bills only get bigger as time goes on. Anything would help to relieve all the added stress that this accident has brought on my family.
