Hello, My name is Christina Vojth. I have been a family friend of the Mazzara's since 1993. It has been a privilege to know Pete and his wife Michelle(married 30 plus years) and their beautiful son Nick. This family has gone through some serious health/employment challenges in the last year. Pete came down with a life threatening infection and he was unable to work. Once his health was back on track then COVID lockdowns started. Then the poker room at Green Valley Ranch closed and he was without employment. He and his family were extremely careful but they all came down with COVID at the same time. Michelle and Nick are on the mend yet still have lingering issues. Pete has not been as fortunate. He was rushed to Saint Rose hospital on August 9 and diagnosed with COVID Pneumonia. He was in an emergency room for 3 days unable to speak with his family and then put into COVID isolation in the ICU for four weeks. On September 9th he was transported to a kindred care hospital because he still is unable to breath on his own. His lungs have been compromised and the doctors have said their may be permanent scarring and issues. He is hoping to be home by his birthday on November 1. Again, at this point, he can't walk more than a few steps on his own. Pete nor his family has ever asked of anything from others. They have always come from contribution and compassion for others. All of your prayers, cards, phone calls, facebook posts and well wishes have touched this families soul. They have been overwhelmed by the love you have all shown them. Any money that is donated will go directly to the family. This money will be used to meet their medical deductions, copays, medicine, in home care, food, mortgage and utility bills. Thank you all.
