Tell Pete to Keep Playing that Cello!
Donation protected
Thanks for the support! We are now driving again, and back to work.
And, looking forward to an upcoming cello concert fundraiser! This will help to continue paying off the instrument repair. Deep gratitude to you.
.....Heres the original story......
At 5:15 am on Sunday, Oct. 20, a drunk driver in a high speed chase made a sudden turn, resulting in the loss of control of her vehicle. Her car was small, but the speedy impact crushed my parked car. At that moment I was on stage, in an unusual performance of ambient cello and vocal music for several hundred sleeping people.
Someone told me 911 had been called. No one was hurt, to my knowledge.
It took 1.5 hours for the police to arrive, and in that time we learned that she was reacting to trauma. It also appears her insurance has lapsed.
Right there, three things became clear to me:
1: the impermanence of all things
2: the necessity for a sense of humor
3: my budget liability insurance will not cover this
In the following days, Benning Violins in Studio City finished a full restoration of my cello, a huge project requiring months of precise work.
If you can, please help me to cover these expenses:
1. A new used car
2. Cost of cello restoration
With your help, I also have a wonderful new album of music coming.
For your donation:
I can mail my recent album ‘Dream Talk,’ OR cello lessons; the physics of tone, imagination, the joy of listening, OR tracking cello on your song, soundtrack, movie, etc
At this moment I am possibly more motivated than ever. My children are strong and healthy! We all have deep gratitude to you!
