Hello!

We are Deb and Don Kaminski. We started this go fund me for our son Pete. Pete has been dealing with diabetes for almost 35 year. He recently had a major setback in the form of a debilitating infection on his foot.

The infection got worse even though he was being treated for it. He went into the hospital on Monday June 12th in extreme pain and was unable to put any weight on his foot. After an MRI, it showed that infection was now on his bone. He went into surgery Thursday June 16th to have part of his foot amputated due to the bone infection.

More surgeries may be necessary as there was some signs of bone infection on his 4th metatarsal. He will remain in the hospital for an undetermined amount of time. However, once discharged he will not be able to put any weight on it for 6-8 weeks.

Pete won’t be able to work for those 6-8 weeks or longer and the medical bills and financial stress is going to be piling up.

Pete is a work horse, despite his numerous medical difficulties that have all stemmed from his diabetes. When he can work, he works hard and whenever he gets knocked down, he bounces right back up. He is constantly trying to stay positive. If you have the pleasure of knowing him, then you know that he would give you the shirt off his back, his car to borrow, or at least invite you to one of his fantastic barbecues. He is the ultimate family guy and is loved by so many. He wouldn’t think twice of organizing a fundraiser for anyone in need and would never have thought to be on the receiving end. He would much rather be giving rather than taking.
