Pete Dillon with his ongoing medical expenses.
Donation protected
My name is Nadia and I am starting this GoFundMe account on behalf of my parents, Pete and Betty Dillon.
My dad has been courageously battling pulmonary fibrosis, a serious lung condition that makes even the simplest tasks a challenge. Recently, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was hospitalized for complications from pneumonia. After a week of care in the hospital, dad was transferred to Bride Brook Rehabilitation Center in Niantic, just a short distance from the condo he shares with my mom.
While Bride Brook has been helping dad regain his strength, Medicare only covers 21 days of his stay. After that, the cost will be $200 per day—an expense that is beyond their means. We are unsure how long dad will need this vital care, but his recovery depends on it. At the moment, he is having trouble walking even a short distance.
We are asking for your help to raise $15,000 to ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Here’s how your support will be used:
- $6,000 to cover an additional month, ensuring that dad gets the care he needs.
- Around $4,000 to $6,000 to help pay the mounting medical bills from his hospital stay and provide for home care when dad is finally released.
- The rest will go towards small remodels in my parent's home so he can get around easier. An example is a walk-in shower and possibly a stair lift.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you cannot give, sharing this page with others who might be able to help means the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support as dad continues on his journey to recovery. Together, we can help my parents through this challenging time.
