Pete Bilinski for almost a decade has been a staple in our community fomenting girls' Fastpitch softball. From helping, teaching, coaching, umpiring and everything in between he has impacted the lives of hundreds of girls in a positive way, always encouraging and keeping the game fun for the girls.

As a coach, even though he was very competitive, he always kept his "cool" and took time to teach the girls the right way to play the game, spending time with each individual player. From coaching his daughters Sierra and Kristyn at a very young age until they were older and played travel ball, then he started coaching younger teams again because he just could not stay off the fields.

A few years back he started umpiring. Most will say that he was the best umpire we had in the area, because he was fair and consistent. The biggest compliment I heard was that the visiting teams would like for him to go umpire at their fields. But he wasn't just good because he made good calls, but because he took the time to make the game a good experience for the girls and the families. He would call time out and correct the batters or the pitchers; this meant the world for young players who were nervous. Some of these girls because of these little pointers have continued to play and are great competitive players moving on to high school and college ball.

His daughters are a testament of how good of a father and role model he was. They have showed kindness, as they have mentored young players. They have showed volunteerism and fairness as they have been umpires for our softball league. But most importantly they have showed good character as most players and parents will attest of how they always behave in a respectful and positive manner.

On the morning of October 20th, while working, Pete suffered a life ending accident. He is survived by his daughter Sierra, wife Stacey and step daughter Kristyn. His compassion and love for others was express on the field where he gave most of his time. We ask to show some love back to him through giving back to his family. Pete, umpire, coach, friend, brother, husband and father, thank you for all you gave and did for us. You will be missed!
