Mason's Mission
It is the long-term goal of Mason’s Mission to raise $150,000 in order to create a permanent endowment with Duke TIP in Mason’s name. So far, because of the generosity of hundreds of donors we are currently just under $40k mark. With your help, we can reach our long term goal for this permanent endowment and a student will be given this amazing educational opportunity for years to come.
Mason's Mission is a nonprofit organization established to create a permanent endowment that would send an academically talented student to the Duke TIP program, a program that helped Mason as a teenager, at no cost to the student.
Mason McLeod was a park ranger, outdoor enthusiast and relentless pursuer of knowledge. In 2010, his plane disappeared in the midst of a storm in the Alaskan wilderness and his life, along with three others aboard, was tragically cut short. Mason’s memory and legacy is kept alive by his family and friends through the Mason McLeod Memorial Endowment Fund.
Mason attended the Duke TIP program in 8th grade, which opened his eyes that there were other advanced students like him who found the normal curriculum tedious and boring. Duke TIP provided him the opportunity to pursue challenging coursework at the prestigious Duke University.
