I've been in Scouting America since I was 6 years old with the goal of becoming an Eagle Scout! I've always loved animals, especially dogs. In 2018, my family adopted "Mars" from the HSHV Love Train, and four years later, we adopted "Sirius", also from the HSHV Love Train.
When it was time to pick an Eagle Scout project, I knew I wanted to give back to the organization that brings so much joy to local homes with loving pets! After meeting with representatives of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, I decided to take on a larger project to build them a shade pavilion, or "Pet Pawvilion" as I like to call it!
I created the pavilion design shown in the image above using CAD and I have a full project plan and bill of materials necessary to complete it. In order to purchase these materials, I'm hoping to raise $4500. The pavilion will be built out of cedar to ensure its longevity. I hope to complete the fundraising portion of my project by the middle of July 2025 so I can complete the project before my senior year starts in mid-August.
Thank you for supporting my project and HSHV! The dogs and volunteers will be happy to enjoy a new shaded area in their dog park for many years to come.
NOTE: Any funds raised in excess of cost of the pavilion project will be donated directly to the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
