Josh AKA “Pestilence”

Josh AKA “Pestilence” has been living with Crohn’s disease since he was 13 years old. In recent years his disease has caused him to be hospitalized and required several costly operations. This past August, Josh began having issues again and went back to his doctor to seek further treatment. Since his situation is so unique he has needed to see specialists who typically require several months before he actually sees them face to face for an appointment. During this time, Josh’s body developed fistulas and several abscessed areas. Recently, he needed to go into the emergency room to have one of the abscessed areas drained with emergency surgery. Two weeks into recovery and he was readmitted with further complications related to another abscess that developed in his pelvis. This required Josh to have a drain inserted to deplete the abscess, and is now awaiting surgery to have a permanent end ostomy installed and his rectum removed. This operation will change Josh’s life and offer him the opportunity for a greater quality of living than he has ever experienced. The road to recovery will be long and expensive and needs help financially to not only avoid losing the place he is living, but also to continue caring for himself and his two beloved cats. After the operation he will likely be off work for several months to recover and will need assistance to continue paying his expenses. (Here is a list of expenses..)

Rent, medical expenses and equipment/supplies not covered by insurance, pet care, utilities, phone, food, transportation, daily expenses and general hygiene items…basically, imagine if you were the sole person to bring in income, take care of yourself and was instantly put in a position of zero income as well as trying to live, recover and survive a lifelong illness after having life changing surgery…Pesto is a remarkable soul…I have never met a person like him…the talent, generosity, intellect, and strength he possesses is truly inspiring…and our friend needs our help…
