Familia peruana que necesita apoyo luego de la pérdida de su casa e ingresos causados por la inundación del río.
Se trata de la familia de Celso que necesita tu ayuda. Celso y su esposa Soledad viven en un área remota en el sur de Perú. Cerca del pueblo de Suykutambo en los Tres de Suykutambo, cerca del pueblo de Espinar (250 km de Cusco). La propiedad de Celso ha pertenecido a la familia durante generaciones. Su familia con 3 hijos Judy (11), Coffee (9) y Bryan (7) llevan un Agriturismo (estancia en una granja). El área alrededor de Espinar es un nuevo destino turístico y la cantidad de turistas aún es baja a pesar del potencial en belleza natural y auténtica cultura Inca. Toda la familia hizo un gran esfuerzo para construir su reputación y su Agriturismo de una manera sostenible. Instalaron paneles solares y una caldera solar y construyeron un invernadero para verduras frescas y limpias.
Luego, el 24 de febrero de 2020, ocurrió un desastre.
Las fuertes lluvias habían cesado y durante la noche el río comenzó a crecer. A altas horas de la noche, la casa de Celso comenzó a inundarse. Se vertió agua en la casa. Gracias a la rápida reacción de los padres y dos clientes que estaban presentes, los tres niños se salvaron justo antes de que el río lavara su casa río abajo. Solo queda la puerta de entrada. Aunque Celso apenas pudo poner a salvo a su familia, sus pertenencias fueron destruidas cuando su casa desapareció en el río inundado. Su casa de huéspedes resultó gravemente dañada, su huerto y el estanque de truchas destruidos. El invernadero se perdió y también se perdieron 2 grandes paneles solares y un convertidor a 220 voltios. Como no hay conexión a la red en esta ubicación remota, esto ha causado grandes problemas para la familia y su negocio. Grandes rocas de río cubren la propiedad. La familia ahora duerme en la pequeña tienda de la carretera.
Una inundación como esta no había ocurrido antes. La pandemia del coronavirus empeora aún más la situación ya que no hay turistas (antes de la inundación el 'Agriturismo' atraía cada vez a más clientes) y el gobierno está completamente ocupado por el brote del virus (Perú es uno de los países más afectados del mundo) y tienen pocos recursos para brindar ayuda de emergencia. La familia no tiene que contar con la ayuda del gobierno este año. En diciembre comienza la nueva temporada de lluvias y antes de eso necesitan emplear trabajadores con máquinas para construir algo de protección contra el río, reparar los daños a la casa de huéspedes, reemplazar la energía solar, reconstruir el huerto y construir dormitorios para la familia.
Todas las donaciones irán directamente a la familia afectada para que puedan reconstruir su sustento y protección antes de la próxima temporada de lluvias y recuperar su 'Agriturismo' nuevamente. Con la ayuda recibida hasta ahora han comenzado a trabajar en la parte mas importante, el muro de proteccion. Con el dinero donado hasta el momento pudieron hacer algunas excavaciones y comprar gaviones para el muro. El dinero donado permitió hacer algunas excavaciones y comprar gaviones para el muro. Como puede ver en el video, toda la familia ha estado llenando estos gaviones a mano, un trabajo muy duro para la esposa de Celso y los niños. Una vez que se haya terminado el muro, aún tendrán que reconstruir su propia casa.

This is about Celso's family who need your help. Celso and his wife Soledad live in a remote area in south Peru. Close to the village of Suykutambo in the Three Canyons of Suykutambo, near de town of Espinar (250 km of Cusco). Celso's property has been in the family for generations. His family with 3 children Judy (11), Coffee (9) and Bryan (7) year run an Agriturismo (farmstay). The area around Espinar is a new tourist destination and the amount of tourists is still low despite the potential in natural beauty and authentic Inca culture. The whole family put a lot of effort in to build their reputation and their Agriturismo in a sustainable way. They installed solar panels and a solar boiler and built a greenhouse for fresh and clean vegetables.
Then on the 24th of February 2020 a disaster struck.
Heavy rains had failed and during the night the river started to swell. Late at night Celso's house started to flood. Water poured into the house. Thanks to quick reaction of the parents and two clients who were present, the three children where saved just before the river washed their house down the river. Only the front door is left standing. Although Celso was just able to get his family to safety, their belongings were destroyed when their house disappeared in the flooded river. Their guesthouse was severely damaged, their veggie garden and trout pond destroyed. The greenhouse was lost and 2 big solar panels and a converter to 220 volt were lost as well. As there is no connection to the grid on this remote location, this has caused big problems for the family and their business. Big river boulders are covering property. The family now sleeps in the small roadside shop.
A flooding like this has not happened before. The corona virus pandemic makes the situation even worse as there are no tourists (before the flooding the 'Agriturismo' was attracting more and more clients) and the government is completely occupied by the virus outbreak (Peru is one of the worst hit countries in the world) and have little resources to provide emergency help. The family does not have to count on help from the government this year. In December the new raining season starts and before that they need to employ workers with machines to build some protection against the river, repair the damages to the guest house, replace solar power, rebuild the veggie garden and build sleeping quarters for the family.
All donations will go directly to the affected family so they can rebuild their livelihood and protection before the next raining season and get their 'Agriturismo' back on their feet again. With the help that has come in so far work has started on the most important part, the protective wall. The donated money made it possible to do some excavations and buy gabions for the wall. As you can see from the video's the whole family has been filling these gabions by hand, a very hard job on Celso's wife and the children. Once the wall has been finished they will still need to rebuild their own house.
