Dear Donor, our little man Thor needs surgery sooner than later. He has Persistent right aortic arch which is a congenital abnormality of the blood vessels of the heart that can affect esophageal function in some dogs and less commonly, in cats. Basically, an embryonic branch of the aorta fails to regress and is wrapped around the esophagus when a puppy or kitten is born.
This is what is pressing on his esophagus and narrowing it so he has a hard time keeping food down.
Surgery is the only option to give him a chance of survival....and because of his small size, it could be risky.
This is a specialized surgery and and could run as high as $10,000, if there are complications.
Is surgery worth the risks? Yes. I say Thor and Frejya found me; I wasn't looking but they stole my heart.

Part of fund raising is to also help Thor gain weight and stay hydrated for surgery which may require injections and/or tubing perhaps weekly or more and special high caloric foods. Ideally, he should be at least 3lbs but he may be able to get surgery if we can get him up to at least 2.5lbs.
I've seen kittens who have gone through this surgery and now are doing quite well. We'd like to give Thor the chance to stand proudly on his Aasgard with his mighty hammer and be able to say..... Power to the paw!
Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated to help our little man Thor grow into Mighty Thor!
Thank you.
Thank you.
