We're rowing an Ocean! Unsupported, for up to 50 days, rowing two hours on, and two hours off from Lanzarote until we reach Antigua. That's 3000 nautical miles across the length of the Atlantic Ocean...

An unsupported row means once we leave the dock on departure day, we and we alone have to deal with everything and anything that comes our way. We will be responsible for boat repairs, managing our own health and tackling the water conditions that come our way. Navigation, subsistence, managing team relations - we will be completely self-reliant - our only shelter will be the small bow and stern cabins that are no larger than the size of a small double bed.

But why?

We’re rowing the Atlantic to raise money for both Action for M.E, and Diabetes UK. These two charities are particularly important to the crew and the friends and families they know. 25% of those affected by M.E are bedbound, that number includes Georgia's good friend Shona, a fantastically bright and able young woman who has inspired our ocean row.

Both Diabetes, and ME are largely invisible, and as of yet uncurable conditions – this means they're left unseen to those who don’t experience them. We want to illuminate these challenges, rowing an ocean for those who it would never be possible. Not only this, Will lives with Type 1 Diabetes himself, meaning our cross will come with extra, and perhaps as of yet unknown challenges.

How can you help us?

Rowing the Atlantic comes at a cost. Our January 2028 crossing is expected to cost over £60,000 - that's covering entry fees, shipping costs, boat charter, equipment and training, food and medical supplies and more. To help support Will's medical needs, we will require extra solar on the boat and a specially designed fridge to store his medication too. With your support, we can get our challenge off the ground, meaning we can spend as much time as possible raising awareness, and funds for our chosen charities.

All funds on this page go directly to supporting the cost of the row. To donate to our chosen charities, please visit our donation page here: https://givestar.io/gs/persistence-atlantic-row-2028
