Perry Student Computer Fees
Donation protected
The Perry Education Association (the teacher's union) is raising funds to pay for the student computer fees for grades PK-12. The fees currently total about $2300, and that number will only continue to rise. Our goal is to cover the current fees, and establish a reserve fund that will be earmarked for future computer fees.
With students in distance learning, students having to quarantine, and students on-site utilizing technology in the classroom, having access to updated computers is critical for student success. Students who currently owe a fee have a loaner machine--these are often older, slower, less reliable models. When their fee is paid, their regular machine is repaired and they get it back.
The school charges very low computer fees, much below the actual cost of the repair. But with over 1600 students in the district, these fees add up. This is something our community can do during this difficult time to help our students and their families. Every little bit helps!
