I'm trying to get top surgery at the beginning of next year! As some of you know I'm non-binary and transmaculine and use they/them pronouns. Getting top surgery would be a huge relief and would be a form of immense gender affirmation. As of now, I'm a full time graduate student and work as a teacher, which leaves very little in my savings. The surgery is $14,000 out of pocket (what I make in a year currently) with the surgeon I want to use in Florida (no insurance accepted). Since my parents are temporarily located in Florida now, they'll be supporting me in the recovery along with some friends. I know 14k is a lot--anything I don't raise here I will take out loans on. 

If you know me, you know I have a hard time asking for help, or being very public, in general, but especially about issues around my gender. Really if there's anything you can help me out with I'd be so incredibly appreciative. I would also appreciate this fundraiser being emailed to people in your circle you think could contribute as well. Although please do not share it publicly on social media; I don't feel comfortable with sharing it in that way at this time.
